The Eclipse CD3100 is a standardized car stereo system. It is equipped with numerous features. Along with the AM/FM receiver, C3100 also manages to play the advanced CD, MP3 and WMA-encoded disc, but isn?t compatible with the DVD audio. The system supports the tuner for the satellite signals, HD radio and music from iPod can also be activated with the use of iPC-106 module. It offers the technique of dial/rocker function, where one can switch on to the different options that are available in the main menu. Eclipse CD3100 consists of a fine LCD screen with red, blue, white color display option.

Instead of using many controls for volume, it has been put into one compact rotary knob which consists of the for way push button. This makes the navigator more comfortable in managing the controlling of channels. The mode button activates the rotary knob. Along with this, it also shows some graphics for the setting of the EQ levels. CD3100 provides with the EQ customization facility with which one can have the opportunity to tune the output according to their preference. Another option that can be possible is that the disc?s basic band setting for bass, treble, or the midrange can be easily managed. A much simpler facility is the equalizer which is used for tuning all the three bands simultaneously.

Eclipse CD3100 differentiates itself from other products due to the feature of Area Shot Navigation function. It provides the direction to the preprogrammed destinations. For it to be activated, one has to first know the serial code and register at Eclipse website. Then an online programming of navigation Eclipse route finder is accessible. Once this file is found, save and burn a CD. Lastly, uploading of this file in the stereo has to be done. The process is a bit sophisticated, but once done, it helps to a great extent in the process of navigation.
