Clarion APX1300 Car Stereo Amplifier Review



The APX1300 is a mono car stereo amplifier that is brought out by Clarion that offers you an output of 400 watts of RMS as it also has the adaptability to work with a variety of systems. The Clarion APX1300 car stereo amplifier produces a full frequency response that ranges from 20 Hz to 30,000 Hz so you can use the amplifier to power a total range of speakers or just power a subwoofer system. The mono amplifier can also be tuned with its in built variable low pass filters along with a selectable bass boost for the use in the subwoofer system. The preamp level and speaker level inputs let you connect it to almost any factory car stereo. The Clarion APX1300 mono car stereo amplifier is designed with a constant variable low pass crossover that ranges from 50 Hz to 300 Hz that work to filter out the highs from your subwoofer system. To develop a full range operation you can turn off the X-Over mode option and the frequency control would have no effect. The crossover of the unit is 12 dB octave slopes. The amplifier offers both speaker level and line level inputs. If you need to connect a car receiver with a line output, then you can use the RCA stereo cable patch.

The car stereo amplifier is designed with gold plated connections including the terminals for ground, power, speaker, remote and RCA line inputs. Regarding the protection circuitry of the Clarion APX1300 amplifier, it includes a double way protection circuit. When the operating temperature is detected to be too high and the speaker outputs have been shorted, the amplifier will shut down. There is a red LED on the left side of the amplifier which would glow to let you known that the amplifier is turned into protection mode.
