Cerwin Vega Stroker Pro Series Subwoofer Review

The first thing you will notice about the Cerwin Vega Stroker Pro series subwoofers is the size and may remind you of some kind of space debris that came off of Apollo 13. One thing is for certain with these subs: they?re loud and sound good. Let me remind you that the typical usage for these monster subs is competition? or I suppose you could use these regularly on your way to work if you want a couple of deaf ears.
First off, they could handle up to 5000 watts of max power and up to 2500 watts of continuous RMS power. It has an enormous Xmax range of up to 40mm (over 1-1/2?!). The larger the Xmax range means that the subwoofer is capable of delivering bass with much reduced distortion allowing to continuously deliver that sound longer while at high or even extreme volumes. In this case, the Cerwin Vega Stroker Pro could easily outperform other competition subwoofers because unlike the Stroker Pro, they average at around 20 ? 30mm (about 1? ? 1-1/4?).
Cerwin Vega has also designed the basket around its ability to perform. For instance, the dual voice coils are designed closer to the internal aluminum heat sink which will allow it to absorb heat from both the overall ambient temperature as well as the voice coils as it performs at high levels. The only drawback to this is of course the oversized basket that is needed for proper structure cooling; but fear not because its deep mounting depth (9?) allows it to maintain its high excursion performance allowing users to experience quality bass-listening experience.
The Cerwin Vega Stroker Pro is an incredibly high-performing competition subwoofer. It looks mean and it sounds mean. What else could you ask for? It is well worth your money and you would not be disappointed. They?re available as 12? subwoofer or the larger 15
