JVC KW-AVX810 Review

Missing Attachment

JVC delivers its KW-AVX810 with clarity and functionality that is virtually second to none. It?s packed with multimedia features as well as expandability options. The KW-AVX810 is the replacement to JVC?s older KW-AVX800 and features improved audio and video signal reproduction as well as a wider range of expandability options.

The JVC KW-AVX810 features a 7? LCD touchscreen display that is motorized and capable of being detached from the main unit. The detachable panel is very rare in double DIN unit and is definitely valuable as a passive theft-deterrent, a feature that already sets the unit apart from the others. The screen is highly contrasting and deep in color, making watching movies and video sources much more enjoyable. The double DIN head unit is capable of playing standard DVD movies as well as DivX and AVI video file formats. In addition, the KW-AVX810 is capable of reading regular audio CDs with AAC, MP3, WMA, as well as JPG image files.

This In dash JVC DVD player multimedia source unit features a 24-Bit audio and a 12-Bit video D/A converters, which are much higher bit-rate digital-to-analog converters than most conventional source units, ensuring high quality images and virtually loss-less audio signals, especially when paired with its built-in gold-plated connectors. There is also a built-in adjustable 7-band parametric equalizer with 8 presets, which will allow users to further fine tune the audio to their liking. With all these audio tuning features, there is no doubt that the JVC KW-AVX810 will be able to convert your vehicle into a moving home-theater system. There is even a Dolby Digital surround sound encoding reader that will ensure your action-packed movies sound like an action film!

To accommodate the possibility of audio system expansion, the unit features front, rear, center, and subwoofer, high voltage (5V) preamp RCA outputs. If you want Satellite Radio with the KW-AVX810, that is not a problem as it accommodates both Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio. There is also support for HD Radio, Bluetooth Hands-free Technology, and even iPods. Though the Satellite Radio, HD Radio, and Bluetooth expansions require additional accessories, the iPod support could be accessed by plugging a standard iPod to USB cable to its built-in USB port found in the rear of the unit. There is also an SD Card reader as well as additional RCA audio and video inputs, ensuring that virtually any audio and video media you have is accommodated for!

Last, but not least, the JVC KW-AVX810 features a proximity sensor. The proximity sensor is an intelligent system that will detect a user?s hand when it is near the unit or away from it. The on screen menus will appear or disappear automatically when your hand is near or away from the unit. This eliminates the need for the unit to be ?exited? out of menus or ?entering? the menu.
In the end, the JVC KW-AVX810 stands out from the rest with the audiophile-quality audio and video outputs and processing capabilities as well as its ability to receive USB, SD Card, and iPods. It could also receive a plethora of audio and video file formats, including DivX. If you?re not jumping on this bandwagon, we suggest you do that now!

I agree man- the remote looks a bit iffy though. Looks like something out of "Pimp my Ride". It would be so cool to have a screen in my car !
