If you are looking to add an extra bass to your car stereo sound system without searching an extra space in your car then Boston Acoustics has the perfect solution for you. The newly designed GTR12 component subwoofer by Boston Acoustics is a non powered and shallow speaker which is designed to be used in conjunction with the G5 subwoofer of Boston Acoustics. When the subwoofer is mounted in a box the cone of the radiator moves with the air pressure that is created by G5 subwoofer support and the bass output without extra power. Adding the GTR12 passive radiator to a subwoofer box along with the 12 inch G5 subwoofer would also increase the output by nearly 3 dB which is nearly twice the volume. As this subwoofer is only three inches deep you can add it to almost any subwoofer box.

The Boston Acoustics GTR12 subwoofer offers you 3dB increase of output when connected with 12 inch G5 subwoofer in a sealed subwoofer enclosure. The GTR12 is designed with a copolymer cone along with a raised polypropylene dustcap. The rear diaphragm and the front cone both have a large foam surround. This frame is designed with a strong and lightweight aluminum. The wraparound gasket of the unit offers an airtight seal even when the unit is bottom is top mounted. You can tune the passive radiator to any of the three desired frequency tuning mode through removing or adding the supplied tuning weights. The Boston Acoustics GTR12 is a simple and standard enclosure like all the standard subwoofers. This component subwoofer would require a 3 inch mounting depth. You should note that the three inch mounting depth would include the required amount of space at the back of passive radiator. As the subwoofer does not have any magnet the listed magnet diameter is the only measurement from the bottom portion of the frame.
