Overview

Sub-woofers are known to be powerful appendages in the car audio assembly. They are simply meant to elevate levels of musical octave to unprecedented levels. The ability of a subwoofer to produce bass audio frequencies upto 20 Hz and sometimes 1Hz has earned them a precious place in the list of car audio accessories. Alpine PLV-7 Subwoofer features Linear Array Transducer (LAT) technology. Each of the woofers produces bass frequencies of sound in cumulative steps, thus augmenting the entire sound stream to low frequency high bass sound. The PLV-7 features speaker and pre-amp level sound inputs and a low frequency filter to produce the desired bass. The ultimate result is impressive bass quality from a system occupying less space inside the car.

Features

Alpine PLV-7 Subwoofer consists of six 7 inch conical woofers in a subwoofer box. To amplify the desired streams, Alpine PDX 500Watts RMS digital amplifier is also incorporated. Other technical features include low-pass crossover, bass boost through remote control and phase switch. The subsonic filter elevates the sound levels to the desired bass quality operating at 15 Hz with a magnitude of 24 dB per octave. The quantity of bass boost is about 0-12 dB at operating frequency of 45 Hz. The speaker and pre-amp level inputs are also commendable keeping in view the beauty of bass element in the musical sound. Since the wiring is not included with the system, it is highly recommended to use 4-gauge power controls and ground leads.
