In-car Video Game Systems

In-car video game systems are immensely popular these days. Initially sales were driven by needs of children but with many adults discovering their inner-child who never grew up, the market has opened up substantially.

In-car video or entertainment systems can be broadly classified into three types namely, factory fitted or retrofitted, semi-portable systems, and portable laptop systems. People have installed Sony Playstation, Microsoft XBox 360, and others into their car stereo for the latest mobile electronics experience. Factory fitted systems are systems which are mounted permanently into the car. Semi-portable systems can be moved from car to car. They come with video screens that are usually attached to the front seats. Portable laptop units are truly mobile and are designed to be used by one person. Each of these systems has inherent strengths and weaknesses.

Systems are further classified into types like the in-dash systems. In-dash systems are mounted on the car’s front dash panel and can replace the audio head unit. The LCD screen slides out of the deck when one starts the car and these systems have a very high visual appeal. It is not uncommon for owners of these systems to spend extra time in their cars when not driving just to play these games. One can even view movies on your Video game systems. This not recommended for the driver unless he parks the car and also applies the emergency hand brake just for ensuring complete safety. Video game systems seem likely to get more popular in future with quality software driving demand.
